Two Scottish restaurants have been added to the Michelin Guide, including the new fine-dining restaurant at Sir Andy Murray’s luxury Perthshire hotel.
Cradle at Cromlix, near Dunblane, and Whirlybird in Edinburgh are among 22 new restaurants added to the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland in its latest September update.
Cradle opened at Cromlix earlier this year as Andy and Kim Murray continued a major transformation of the five-star country house hotel.
The intimate 16-seat restaurant is led by executive head chef James Mearing and offers the hotel’s most exclusive dining experience.
Michelin described Cradle as a “culinary crown jewel” as it revealed its latest additions.
It opened alongside the Garden Room, a larger 60-cover restaurant overlooking the grounds, as Cromlix expanded its food and drink offering.
The former Glasshouse restaurant has also been repurposed for afternoon tea and events.
Murray bought Cromlix in 2013. The Victorian hotel, set in 34 acres near Kinbuck, has since undergone a major refurbishment, with Kim Murray closely involved in its redesign.
Edinburgh’s Whirlybird is the other Scottish restaurant to make Michelin’s latest list.
The café, bar and restaurant opened earlier this year on Victoria Street in the Old Town.
Led in the kitchen by Lucia Gregusova, it serves food throughout the day, moving from coffee and lunch into dinner and drinks.
Michelin lists both Cradle and Whirlybird under its “Modern Cuisine” category.
The guide regularly adds new restaurants to its online selection throughout the year as inspectors visit venues across Britain and Ireland.
Scotland also enjoyed success at the 2026 Michelin awards, with Killiecrankie House in Perthshire and 1887 at The Torridon among the restaurants to gain new stars.
