Its book was written by the film’s director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J.F. Lawton.

The production premiered in Chicago in 2018 before transferring to Broadway.

It later opened in London’s West End in February 2020, initially at the Piccadilly Theatre before moving to the Savoy Theatre in 2021.

The West End run ended in June 2023 before the musical embarked on its first UK and Ireland tour later that year.

The 2027 Glasgow dates will mark the musical’s return to the King’s Theatre as part of its latest UK tour.
