Everything you need to know about GlasGLOW's Halloween event

The route map for this year’s GlasGLOW show – Zombie Zoo – has been revealed including details of some of the biggest moments waiting inside.

Glasgow’s biggest Halloween event returns to the Botanic Gardens on Friday 16th October, and promises a thrilling 60-minute adventure at the world’s first ever zombie containment and conservation facility.

On arrival, visitors will enter the flaming Zombie Zoo gates before being welcomed on the big screen by world-famous Zombie Zookeeper, Brian Bones, who will share how to stay safe before sending them on their way to the Zombie Patch.

Every year, the Patch is one of GlasGLOW’s most popular attractions and this year hundreds of pumpkins are being carved in homage to some of the world’s most famous and iconic zombie movies.

From there, guests will pass through the Human Authentication Checkpoint, where they’ll be verified as definitely-not-undead, before heading to find out which type of zombie they would become in the event of an outbreak. At Which Zombie Are You? visitors will come across a series of fun interactive stations designed to reveal their natural zombie type, should the worst happen.

Afterwards it’s time to venture inside the Zombie Enclosure, hidden deep within the gardens, where visitors will get their closest look yet at some of the zoo’s rarest and most misunderstood residents in their specially designed habitats.

Those feeling brave can even Feed the Zombies, before visiting the zoo’s top-secret Laboratory, open to the public for this event only. They will be able to learn more about the science behind these fascinating creatures.

The adventure then reaches one of its biggest moments on the Botanic Gardens’ main lawn where the colossal eight-metre-tall Zombie 01 will tower above visitors as part of a spectacular new show.

All visitors will then be required to pass through Decontamination Stations before being released back into the wild - to make sure no one was turned during their visit.

GlasGLOW favourites Marshmallowland and the Street Food Village are also returning, with visitors able to toast giant marshmallows under the stars and tuck into street food from Loop & Scoop, Dirty Bird, Mangiamo and Hector & Harriet.

Zombie Zoo runs until 1st November. Tickets are available now.
