Glasgow-based food creator Holly Dingwall has been shortlisted for a major national TikTok award after building an online following of hundreds of thousands with her easy-to-follow recipes.
The Scottish social media star, known to her followers as Foodie Holly, is among six finalists for Food Creator of the Year at the TikTok Awards UK 2026.
The nomination marks another milestone in a remarkable year for Dingwall, who published her debut cookbook in April and was named Scotland’s Food Influencer of the Year in May.
The 25-year-old psychology graduate began sharing cooking videos in 2022 while studying at the University of Aberdeen. What started as a way of sharing affordable meal ideas with other students has grown into a full-time career.
Dingwall, who has no formal culinary training, learned to cook from her mother and developed a passion for experimenting with ingredients and flavours.
Her accessible approach to home cooking has attracted more than half a million followers on TikTok and around 750,000 on Instagram.
Her management agency, HLD Talent, says one of her videos has attracted 32 million views. Her success has also led to partnerships with major brands including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Tesco and Quorn.
After graduating, Dingwall worked as marketing manager for Scottish food business FreshMex before deciding to pursue content creation full-time.
Earlier this year, she released her first cookbook, Dinner, Solved, featuring more than 100 recipes designed to make everyday cooking easier.
Published on 23 April, the book divides recipes into meals that can be prepared in 10, 20, 30 or 40 minutes. Dishes include haggis shakshuka, Greek butter bean orzo and hot honey pepperoni pasta bake.
In May, Dingwall won the Food Influencer of the Year category at the Scottish Influencer Awards, held at Glasgow’s Radisson RED hotel.
Her latest nomination places her alongside five other food creators competing for the UK title: Charlie Betts, Lochan Nowacki, Louise Dickinson, Chloe H and Callum Doyle.
Another nominee with Glasgow connections is Chloe H, known online as @its.chloeh, who began sharing cooking and baking videos while studying anatomy at university in Glasgow during the Covid lockdown. Originally from Taiwan, she has since developed a substantial online following through her recipes and baking content.
TikTok announced the shortlist on Thursday 5 November, with 79 creators nominated across 13 categories.
The awards celebrate the people shaping online entertainment, fashion, food, sport, travel, education and popular culture.
Kinda Ibrahim, TikTok’s Head of Content Operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “From trendsetters to storytellers, these awards spotlight the ones that spark it.”
Other categories include Creator of the Year, Rising Star Creator of the Year, Entertainment Creator of the Year and Voice of Change.
Last year’s Creator of the Year award went to Max Klymenko.
The 2026 ceremony will take place in central London on Tuesday 1 December, with rapper Tinie Tempah confirmed to perform.
Voting is now open through the TikTok app and closes on Wednesday 18 November.
Fans can search for TikTok Awards within the app to vote for their favourite creators, while the ceremony will be broadcast on TikTok LIVE from 5.30pm on 1 December.
