Fun, music and sparkle for the whole family is promised at Glasgow’s Princes Square by M’s magical Christmas Light Switch-On celebration.
The free festivities kick off at 12.30pm on Sunday, November 15 as the shopping centre, off Buchanan Street, comes alive with festive cheer and transforms into a sparkling winter destination.
Meet Santa & Mrs Claus in person and share your Christmas wishes, enjoy a graceful performance by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland ballet dancers and a live piano singer who will set the mood for a magical afternoon.
The big moment arrives at 4pm when Santa himself flips the switch and lights up Princes Square with thousands of dazzling Christmas lights.
Revellers can soak up the seasonal joy as the festivities continue until 6pm.
A spokesperson for Princes Square by M said: “Join us at Princes Square by M on Sunday 15th November 2026 for our annual Christmas Light Switch On.
“Gather your family and friends and enjoy a festive celebration as we light up the square for the season ahead.”
Meanwhile, George Square will return to the heart of Glasgow’s Christmas celebrations this year with a new festive village following its £20 million transformation.
Glasgow City Council unveiled plans for Christmas 2026, with events and attractions spread across George Square, St Enoch Square and Glasgow Green throughout November and December.
The revamped George Square will host the new Good Times Christmas Village from late November, featuring food and drink alongside festive light installations.
The full programme for the square is expected to be announced closer to its opening. The council says it is also changing the way Glasgow officially begins Christmas. There will no longer be a single traditional Christmas lights switch-on event in George Square.
Instead, a series of events will take place during the weeks leading up to Christmas. Demand for the old switch-on regularly far exceeded the number of tickets available.
