Henrik Larsson will return to Glasgow tonight for a sold-out reunion with some of the biggest names from one of Celtic’s most successful modern eras.
The Swedish striker will be joined by former teammates Johan Mjällby, John Hartson, Jackie McNamara and Alan Thompson for a special event at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
An Evening with Henrik Larsson & Friends takes place at 7.30pm tonight (Monday 14 September) and has officially sold out.
The event will see the former Celtic players look back at their time together at Parkhead, sharing stories from the dressing room as well as memories of major matches, goals and title-winning seasons.
A fan Q&A will also take place during the evening, which will be hosted by talkSPORT presenter Shebahn Aherne.
Larsson remains one of the most celebrated players in Celtic’s history after spending seven years in Glasgow between 1997 and 2004.
He scored 242 goals in 315 appearances for the club and won four Scottish league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
The striker was also central to Martin O’Neill’s Celtic side which reached the UEFA Cup final in Seville in 2003.
Larsson scored twice in the final against Porto, although Celtic eventually lost 3-2 after extra time in front of a huge travelling support in Spain.
Members of that team will be reunited in Glasgow tonight.
Mjällby spent six years at Celtic after arriving from AIK in 1998, while McNamara made more than 350 appearances during a decade at the club.
Thompson became another key member of O’Neill’s side after joining from Aston Villa in 2000, scoring memorable goals against Rangers and in Celtic’s European campaigns.
Hartson arrived from Coventry City in 2001 and went on to score more than 100 goals for Celtic.
Larsson left Celtic for Barcelona in 2004 and went on to play an important role in the Spanish club’s 2006 Champions League triumph before later having a brief spell at Manchester United.
His connection with Celtic has remained strong since leaving Glasgow and he has returned to the city on a number of occasions for testimonial matches and special events.
VIP packages for the event included a meet and greet with Larsson, Mjällby, Hartson, McNamara and Thompson as well as photographs with the former players.
