Glasgow comedy star Kevin Bridges is back at the OVO Hydro as his huge run of hometown shows continues.

The Clydebank-born comedian returned to the arena on Saturday night (3 October) with his latest stand-up show, Here If You Need Me, and is back on stage again tonight.

The performances form part of a 12-night Glasgow run stretching from September until late November, further extending Bridges’ remarkable record at the venue.

Bridges has already played 63 sold-out performances across the OVO Hydro and SEC venues during his previous tours – more than any other performer in the history of the venues.

His new show marks his return to major UK arenas following the success of previous tours including Overdue Catch-Up in 2022, Brand New Tour in 2018 and A Whole Different Story in 2015.

Those tours helped establish Bridges as one of Britain’s biggest stand-up comedians, with more than two million people attending his live shows around the world.

Last year he also embarked on his first North American tour, performing to more than 40,000 people and ending the run with a sold-out performance at New York’s Beacon Theatre.

The comedian is now firmly back on home ground, with Glasgow accounting for a substantial chunk of his latest tour.

Following this weekend’s shows, Bridges will return to the Hydro on 27 and 29 October before another series of dates throughout November.

Shows are currently scheduled for 3, 4, 15, 17, 25 and 26 November.

The Hydro describes Bridges as “Scotland’s comedy powerhouse”, with Here If You Need Me promising another collection of his observational comedy about everyday life.

The latest tour follows an extraordinary rise for Bridges, who first began performing stand-up as a teenager.

After getting his start at The Stand comedy club in Glasgow, he became a household name following appearances on television including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow before going on to sell out increasingly large venues across the UK.

His Glasgow arena shows have since become something of a fixture whenever he launches a new tour.

Doors for tonight’s show open at 6.30pm, with Bridges expected on stage from 8pm and the performance scheduled to finish at around 10.25pm.

Fans travelling today have also been warned that the Great Scottish Run will cause road closures around Glasgow.

Finnieston Street, the Clyde Arc and Paisley Road West are among the roads close to the SEC campus affected, with restrictions scheduled to remain in place until around 4.30pm.
