Lulu is returning to Glasgow for a homecoming show next year as the Scottish singer prepares to release her first studio album in 12 years.

She will perform at the Pavilion Theatre on 15 April 2027, the final date of a short three-show UK run which will also take her to Cardiff and London.

The concerts will support Lulu’s new album, Let the Girl Sing Out, which is due to be released on 22 January.

It will be the 77-year-old’s 16th studio album and her first since Making Life Rhyme, which was released in 2015. The new record was made at Metrophonic Studios and includes songwriting contributions from Lulu, her brother Billy Lawrie, Mark Taylor and Paul Barry.

It follows her latest single, I’m In Love Again, which has been added to BBC Radio 2’s A-list.

Lulu, was born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie in Lennoxtown before growing up in Glasgow’s East End.

She was brought up in Dennistoun and began performing around Glasgow as a teenager before being discovered at the Lindella Club.

Her version of Shout reached the UK top ten in 1964 and launched a career which has now stretched across more than six decades.

The announcement comes after Lulu returned to Glasgow to unveil a blue plaque commemorating her connection with the former Lindella Jive Club.
