October break fun for all the family at Summerlee Museum in Coatbridge

Keep the kids entertained this October break with a week of fun activities for the whole family at ‘Scotland’s noisiest’ museum - Summerlee.

Open seven days a week, there is always something exciting to discover at the free Coatbridge attraction in North Lanarkshire where history comes alive across 20 acres of indoor and outdoor space.

Situated on the site of the Victorian Summerlee Iron Works and the former Hydrocon Crane factory, the museum showcases Lanarkshire’s contribution to engineering, mining, steel working, weaving and farming.

Step into the past as you wander through Miners Row to uncover the incredible story of Lanarkshire’s industrial heritage with interactive displays and exhibition space.

Marvel at railway steam locomotives, preserved 1960s railway carriages and the Monkland Canal.

Pick up a keepsake in the gift shop and sweet shop and climb, slide and play in its sprawling adventure park.

Summerlee Cafe offers delicious breakfast and lunch options with picnic benches and areas for visitors to enjoy their own packed lunch.
