Visitors to Edinburgh Zoo can now catch a glimpse of internet-famous pygmy hippo calf Piper as she begins exploring her outdoor habitat.
The one-month-old has been spending more time outside under the watchful eye of her mum, Gloria, as keepers gradually introduce her to her new surroundings.
Piper is becoming increasingly confident and curious, taking in the different sights and smells of the outdoor area.
Her habitat includes a pool and sandy areas, giving the young hippo plenty of space to explore and get used to her surroundings.
Keepers are gradually increasing the amount of time Piper spends outdoors as she becomes bolder and more inquisitive.
The youngster has already attracted plenty of attention online, with visitors now able to see her for themselves at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s Edinburgh Zoo.
