In Ayr, the International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight is taking place at Ayr Low Green on Friday and Saturday. The free event will see aircrafts take to the skies above the town, with displays from the Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Visitors can also enjoy entertainment, food and drink and a funfair at the Festival Village.

In Falkirk, Kelpies Live is continuing at The Kelpies at Helix Park from Friday until Sunday. The three-day music event is being held beside the iconic landmarks, with Scottish rock band The Fratellis performing on Friday. Beluga Lagoon will take to the stage on Saturday, before singer-songwriter James Morrison closes the weekend on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Peebles Highland Games is taking place at Hay Lodge Park, Peebles, on Saturday. The annual event will feature traditional Highland competitions including the caber toss, hammer throwing and shot put, alongside Highland dancing and piping. The games offer visitors the chance to experience traditional Scottish culture while enjoying a day out in the Scottish Borders.
