Alan Cumming has won his third consecutive Emmy for hosting the US version of The Traitors.
The Scottish actor continued his remarkable winning streak at the 78th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, taking home Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.
Cumming, 61, has now won the award in 2024, 2025 and 2026 for his flamboyant performance as host of the successful Peacock series.
He beat fellow nominees RuPaul for RuPaul’s Drag Race, Jeff Probst for Survivor, Kristen Kish for Top Chef and Ariana Madix for Love Island USA.
The win puts the Aberfeldy-born star behind only RuPaul and Survivor presenter Probst for the most wins in the history of the hosting category.
Cumming’s award was one of six Emmys won by The Traitors during the first night of the awards.
The programme also picked up prizes for directing, production design, cinematography, picture editing and costumes.
The American version of The Traitors has been filmed at Ardross Castle, near Alness in the Highlands, since launching in 2023.
Cumming has become central to its success, developing an exaggerated on-screen persona complete with a wardrobe inspired partly by Scottish fashion and traditional Highland dress.
His theatrical delivery, Scottish references and increasingly elaborate outfits have become part of the show’s appeal.
The format sees contestants living together in the Highland castle while attempting to identify a group of Traitors secretly selected to eliminate the other players.
Its success has also turned Cumming into a major American reality television personality more than three decades after he first established himself as an actor.
His career has included roles in GoldenEye, Emma, X2: X-Men United and The Good Wife, as well as an extensive career on stage.
He won a Tony Award for his performance as the Emcee in Cabaret and has previously received Emmy nominations for his acting work.
Cumming will host The Traitors: New Blood, a new series bringing ordinary members of the public to the US version of the show instead of established reality stars and celebrities that featured in previous formats.
The new series was also filmed at Ardross Castle and will premiere in the United States on 17 September.
