Cammy Barnes has released his new single ‘You and Me’ today (Friday) ahead of the release of his debut album.

It’s been a quite incredible year for the charismatic everyman, whose connection with fans and unique approach to socials, industry and not-so-secrets have placed him firmly in a league of one.

His debut album will be launched at his two April 2027 headline shows at the cavernous OVO Hydro in Glasgow, the second date added due to incredible demand and quick sell out of the first 13,500 capacity show.

He has just been named Artist of the Year by the Nordoff and Robbins Scottish Music Awards and in this year alone has gone from King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in January to two Barrowlands sell-outs in September.

‘You and Me’ is a sweetly raucous, gloriously anthemic song made for arenas, stadiums and big fields full of happy people. It’s country, it’s pop, it’s Scottish, it’s rock, it’s modern and it’s traditional. It’s loud and fun and a little wild and most of all it’s as far from conventional as you can get.

Cammy said: “It’s fun – it’s a winner to play live. It has a big catchy chorus which feels awesome from the stage, the energy in the crowd is through the roof.

“I can only imagine how it will be at the Hydro. It does feel like it’s a perfect hit for those big shows and big crowds.”

The driving bassline, soaring singalong hooks, classic Americana guitar and honky tonk stabs come together to create something altogether fresh, exciting, different and irresistible.

As ever Cammy’s vocals are the heart of it all, in a song that beautifully sums up the sound and style of the man who has soundtracked 2026 for so many.

It seems this song was even fun to write – and as ever there’s real emotion at its core.

Cammy said: “I wrote You and Me with one of my best mates, Davey Horne. It’s about experiences we have both had not knowing where home is, living from town to town with loved ones.

“Sometimes songs come together really fast and this was one of them, we had it written in 30 minutes and it was such a fun process. That comes through playing it too.

“And aye, it’s a good indication of the broad sound and direction of the album. It will be full of storytelling, raw country pop and feel-good sounds.”
