Glasgow International Comedy Festival (GICF) has announced the first acts for 2027’s event, as some of comedy’s biggest names are set to appear at Scotland’s largest dedicated comedy festival.
Alan Carr, Susie McCabe, Mike Wozniak, Connor Burns, Fascinating Aïda and more will take to stages across Glasgow from 10th - 28th March 2027 as homegrown talent and international stars entertain the city.
Having welcomed over 62,000 fans to 636 shows and events in 2026, next year’s festival will continue to establish GICF as a major hub for rising comedy stars, homegrown talent and world renowned comics. Next spring, the festival will host a variety of comedy - from traditional stand-up to kids shows, live podcasts, clowning, musical comedy and much more. Venues across Glasgow will host comedy shows including: King’s Theatre, Oran Mor, The Stand, Citizens Theatre, SEC Armadillo, Glee Club and more.
One of the UK’s most beloved comedians, especially following 2025’s stint on ‘The Celebrity Traitors’, Alan Carr will perform three sold out shows at the King’s Theatre with brand new show ‘Have I Said Too Much’. Taking on his talent for oversharing, Alan will dish the drama and even tell some tales from the Traitors turret.
Scottish talent will be on full display as former winner of the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award Rosco McClelland performs his critically acclaimed show ‘The Bones’ at the city’s Citizens Theatre, for his biggest Glasgow show ever, whilst Kim Blythe makes a triumphant return to the same venue following last year’s sold out show with ‘Puzzle’.
Mark Black blends music and comedy in acclaimed stand-up show ‘Horrible Family’ following a string of sold out shows at the Pavilion Theatre and SEC Armadillo whilst Dungeons & Dragons fans can enjoy improv comedy in an adventure like no other at ‘Tartan Tabletop’.
Festival Director Krista MacDonald said: “Glasgow’s comedy scene continues to grow from strength to strength and we take great pride in having the opportunity to platform some of this country’s most talented comedians at Glasgow International Comedy Festival every year. 2027’s programme is shaping up to be filled with big hitter headline shows, rising stars and, as usual, an abundance of homegrown talent. We can’t wait to reveal more of this year’s programme!”
