An exclusive Champagne afternoon tea experience is coming to Glasgow’s Princes Square this festive season as Bake Off chef Grete Butkute joins forces with Cuvée.

Taking place on Sunday 22nd November, the one-off event will see the acclaimed pastry chef bring her creative approach to patisserie to the heart of Glasgow, with a bespoke afternoon tea menu accompanied by Veuve Clicquot Champagne and live music.

Grete, who appeared alongside her sister Goda on the 2026 series of Channel 4’s Bake Off: The Professionals, has built an impressive career working in some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, including Scotland’s Gleneagles Hotel, Cakes & Bubbles at London’s Hotel Café Royal and Heart Ibiza. Grete worked with acclaimed Spanish chef Albert Adrià, once named The World’s Best Pastry Chef.

The talented sisters also run Scotiq, a luxury private dining and catering business founded by Grete in 2022, combining their fine dining experience with a passion for Scottish produce, creative presentation and contemporary patisserie.

Now, Grete is bringing that expertise to Glasgow’s city centre for an afternoon designed to offer something a little different from the traditional afternoon tea.

Hosted at Cuvée courtyard within the iconic Princes Square, the experience will take place beneath the centre’s famous Christmas tree, which stands at the heart of the courtyard each festive season.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Veuve Clicquot before enjoying a specially curated selection of sweet and savoury creations, followed by a second glass of Champagne, with live music throughout the afternoon.

John Molloy, Director of Food, The Superlative Collection said: “Grete is a hugely talented chef and someone who’s really well respected across the industry. To have worked alongside Albert Adrià, once named the World’s Best Pastry Chef, tells you everything about the level she operates at, and you can see that precision and creativity in everything she makes. We’re delighted to be bringing that to Cuvée with Grete and Scotiq.

“Princes Square is such a special place at this time of year, and we wanted to create an afternoon that gives people a reason to get dressed up, head into Glasgow and enjoy exceptional food, Champagne and music with friends.”

The collaboration brings together Cuvée’s Champagne offering and Grete’s celebrated pastry expertise, creating an intimate dining experience in one of Glasgow’s best known city centre destinations.

The Champagne Afternoon Tea Experience takes place on Sunday 22nd November from 12pm until 3pm, with tickets priced at £60 per person, including afternoon tea, two glasses of Veuve Clicquot and live music.

Tickets are available via Skiddle.
