Long-Established Campbeltown pub put up for sale

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has been instructed to market The Feathers Inn, a well-performing public house located in the heart of Campbeltown.

With two distinct trading areas comprising a traditional public bar and a separate lounge bar, the property offers informal seating throughout, including booths and loose tables which create a welcoming and authentic pub atmosphere.

Externally, the pub features tables and seating positioned immediately outside the premises, adding to the pub’s presence and providing a small outdoor drinking area.

Occupying a prominent position on Cross Street at Burnside Square, in the heart of Campbeltown and close to the town’s main shops, amenities and waterfront, the business is very popular with locals throughout the year and is often busy with tourists throughout the summer months.

The town is also well regarded as a golfing destination, with the championship links courses of Machrihanish Golf Club and Machrihanish Dunes located approximately five miles west of the town. These celebrated courses draw golfers from across the UK and overseas, providing valuable visitor trade to local hospitality businesses.

James Green, who has owned and operated the pub for 40 years, has decided to sell the business due to retirement.

Tony Spence, Director – Hospitality at Christie & Co, who is managing the sale process, comments, “The Feathers Inn is a well-established wet-led business that enjoys a strong reputation within the local community and benefits from a prominent trading position in the centre of Campbeltown.

“Opportunities to acquire long-standing, profitable freehold pubs in popular west coast locations are increasingly rare, and we expect interest from both experienced operators and those looking to enter the licensed trade in Scotland.”

The Feathers Inn is on the market freehold with an asking price of offers over £475,000.
