She’s dressed Justin Bieber, Shania Twain and Scotland’s Commonwealth Games team.
Now fashion designer Siobhan Mackenzie is dressing a different kind of Scottish star: Edinburgh food hall Bonnie & Wild.
Unveiled last night, her bespoke tartan and wildflower artwork transforms the venue’s entrance at Westfield St James Quarter, bringing a bold splash of Scottish colour and tartan to its façade.
The Black Isle-born designer combines the heritage of tartan with untamed blooms, grasses and botanicals in a new entrance awning inspired by Bonnie & Wild’s name and identity.
Siobhan, whose work has also featured on hit television show The Traitors, revealed the design at a launch event where she switched on the Scottish Marketplace’s Christmas display.
She said: “This latest creation brings the spirit of Bonnie & Wild to life, where we see the richness of Scottish tartan meeting a joyful explosion of wildflowers.
“You see the ‘Bonnie’ captured in the timeless beauty of tartan, itself a celebration of Scotland’s heritage, colour and character, while the ‘Wild’ bursts out in vibrant blooms, delicate grasses and untamed botanicals, evoking the freedom and natural beauty of the Scottish landscape.
“Together, these two worlds intertwine in a bold, colourful expression of the Bonnie & Wild identity: proudly Scottish, beautifully unexpected, and wild at heart.”
Siobhan last night revealed the tartan design at a launch event at Bonnie & Wild, where she also turned on the venue’s famous Christmas display.
Ryan Barrie, B&W’s Managing Director, said: “I love this design by Siobhan, and am thrilled to have her latest piece on permanent display at Bonnie & Wild. It’s a stylish and attractive design that beautifully represents our business, and is another example of Bonnie & Wild showcasing the best of Scotland, this time before you’ve even crossed our threshold.”
