Plans to improve three Kelvingrove streets revealed for consultation

Proposals for Corunna Street, Minerva Street and St Vincent Crescent have been unveiled, with a public consultation now open.

The latest Connecting Yorkhill and Kelvingrove plans aim to create safer, greener and more welcoming streets, making it easier to walk, wheel and cycle through the area.

Local people are being invited to help shape the final designs, which have already been revised following earlier community engagement - with more trees and cycle parking added in response to feedback.

On Minerva Street, upgraded walking, wheeling and cycling routes would be complemented by improved public realm outside Exhibition Centre station, creating a more welcoming and accessible arrival point.

Corunna Street would become one-way northbound between St Vincent Crescent and Argyle Street, with a dedicated southbound cycle lane.

Across the wider project area, proposals also include upgraded pavements and crossings, clearer signage and wayfinding, and new on-street and secure cycle parking.

Cllr Angus Millar, Convener for Transport and Climate said: “These proposals are an opportunity to create safer, more accessible and more welcoming streets in Kelvingrove, while transforming the space outside Exhibition Centre train station into an attractive gateway that reflects the character of the surrounding area.

“By improving pavements and crossings, introducing more greenery and seating, and making it easier for people to find their way around, we want to support everyday journeys and create public spaces that work better for everyone.

“Those who live or spend time in Kelvingrove know the area best, and their experience will be vital in helping us refine these proposals. I would encourage everyone with an interest in the area to look at the plans and share their views so that the final designs reflect local needs and priorities.”

An online consultation survey is now open and will run until 22 November 2026.
