Westfield Primary School has been praised for its friendly pupils, strong relationships and creative approach to learning following a recent inspection by His Majesty’s Inspectors of Education (HMIE).
A team of inspectors visited the Cumbernauld school in June 2026, speaking with pupils, parents and staff as part of the inspection.
Inspectors highlighted a number of strengths across the school, including children who are polite, well-mannered and proud of their school. They also praised the positive and respectful relationships among staff, which help create an inclusive learning environment.
The inspection found that pupils are developing confidence and a range of leadership skills through a wide variety of activities, helping them to play an active role in improving their school community.
Inspectors also praised the school’s approach to play in the early years, describing its learning spaces as engaging and motivating and highlighting the way children are developing their curiosity and creativity.
Both learning, teaching and assessment, and raising attainment and achievement were evaluated as good.
