A visitor to the Isle of Mull captured this majestic shot of the Galeón Andalucía sailing into the scenic Tobermory harbour.
The tall ship, a replica of a 17th Century Spanish galleon, was a breathtaking sight against the backdrop of the famous brightly coloured houses from the hit children’s television show Balamory.
The ‘floating museum’ is now open to visitors in Tobermory as it continues its European tour.
The historic vessel, which is visiting ports on four continents, previously moored in Ayr and was welcomes by hundreds of spectators along the Ayrshire coastline.
The vessel will welcome visitors aboard on Mull until August 31 between 10am and 8pm to learn about maritime heritage at the exhibition onboard.
There will also be a showcase of period-accurate elements including food, sleeping arrangements, navigational tools, cannon handling tools, and more.
The Galeón Andalucía is a replica of the type of vessel used by the Spanish Crown for maritime expeditions of discovery, and to establish trade routes between Spain, America, and the Philippine Islands - designed to cross the largest oceans as efficiently as possible.
María Esteban Castrillo, communications manager for the Galeón Andalucía, said: “Sailing the Galeón Andalucía is a truly epic event. We are talking about an imposing replica of the legendary vessels that accomplished the feat of connecting continents: the Spanish galleons that dominated the longest maritime routes in history.
“This very ship, which we are now bringing to the public, is a living legend that has already sailed the great oceans of the planet. Seeing its historic masts rise against the spectacular backdrop of the rugged Scottish coastline will be an unforgettable sight; it is a unique and monumental opportunity for visitors to have the privilege of stepping onto the very decks that, for over three centuries, linked our world forever”.
Tickets can be purchased on board or online priced £15 for adults and £7 for children under 11, with £37 for family tickets and guided tours for school are also available to book.
