Scotland’s only professional basketball team has announced a new partnership with Loganair.
Caledonia Gladiators have secured a season-long agreement with the regional airline which will see Loganair become an official partner of the East Kilbride side.
This means branding will be featured at home games in Playsport, East Kilbride and across digital platforms. The home arena Sky Bar will be rebranded as the Loganair Flight Deck offering a dedicated hospitality area for partners and guests.
Tony McDaid, CEO of Caledonia Gladiators, said: “We have big plans to grow our support base internationally and make the Caledonia Gladiators a number one basketball team worldwide.
“Partnering with Loganair is a great fit as we seek to fly high and put Scotland on the basketball world stage.”
Loganair operates an extensive regional network across Scotland and the wider UK, including services to the Highlands and Islands.
Lyn MacDonald, director of marketing, communications & product at Loganair, said: “We’re very proud to be partnering with the Caledonia Gladiators and to bring the Loganair brand into the heart of Scottish basketball.
“Sport has a fantastic ability to bring people and communities together, and the Gladiators have built an exciting platform that reaches audiences across Scotland.
“There is a natural connection between what we do as Scotland’s airline and the role the Gladiators play in bringing people together through sport.
“Basketball is the second biggest game in the world, and we know that the Gladiators have fans located all over the world, especially the US where there is a large Scottish diaspora.
“This partnership will help put us in front of them and highlight Scotland as a destination.
“We’re looking forward to working with the Gladiators and supporting what promises to be an exciting season.”
