Tickets have gone on sale for one of Scotland’s most popular Christmas events, with festive film fans being urged to book early to avoid missing out.

Itison Drive-In Movies Christmas returns to Loch Lomond Shores in December, with 28 screenings of family favourites and festive classics planned in the run-up to Christmas Eve.

Tickets went on sale at 7.30am today (Wednesday 4 November), with prices starting at £45 per car.

The annual event has become a Christmas tradition for thousands of Scottish families, with previous editions selling out rapidly.

This year’s programme runs from Friday 11 December until Thursday 24 December, with films including Elf, Home Alone, Love Actually, The Polar Express, Frozen, The Muppet Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

For older audiences, the programme also includes Die Hard 2 and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Films will be screened on the UK’s largest mobile LED screen, with visitors watching from their cars against the illuminated backdrop of Loch Lomond Shores.

Organisers are promising their biggest Christmas Drive-In yet, with entertainment from Heart Scotland, Christmas car-a-oke and a festive street food village.

Food options will include churros from Glasgow’s Loop & Scoop, fried chicken from Dirty Bird, wood-fired pizzas, popcorn and hot chocolate topped with marshmallows.

Tickets cost £45 for off-peak screenings and £49 for peak screenings, including the booking fee and parking charge. An additional service fee starts at £2.25 per ticket.

Each ticket admits one vehicle, including the driver and up to four passengers.

Itison CEO Oli Norman said the event had become an important part of Christmas for families across Scotland.

“This Christmas we’re going bigger than ever with 28 screenings, so if you’ve missed out on tickets before, this is your chance.”

Visitors will need a working FM car radio to hear the films, with the frequency provided on arrival. Gates open between 90 minutes and two hours before screenings, allowing families time to enjoy the festive food and entertainment.

Tickets are available exclusively through itison.com/drivein, where visitors can choose their film, date and screening time.
