The Courteeners are to play Glasgow as part of a headline arena tour this November marking 20 years since their first gig.
The five-piece indie rock outfit will play six dates across the UK this autumn, following a handful of summer shows.
Opening in Leeds on November 6, they will stop off in Cardiff, Liverpool, London then Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on Friday, November 20, before finishing their UK run in Birmingham. Rising English indie rockers The Lathums are on support duties after opening for Kings of Leon at Glasgow’s Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park.
The tour comes on the back of a busy summer for the band, as they played sold out dates at Stoke-On-Trent’s Victoria Hall, Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, Leicester’s O2 Academy and Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park.
Frontman Liam Fray said: “In October it’s 20 years since our first gig, so with a couple of new songs fresh from the studio, the timing just seemed right for a Best Of. If we mean half as much to people as they have done to us over the years, then we’ve not done too bad. We look forward to seeing you down the front God Bless The Fans.”
The group’s brand new compilation album, God Bless The Band – The Very Best Of Courteeners was released on August 28. Celebrating two decades of Courteeners, the album features music from across their seven studio albums, from 2008’s St. Jude to 2024’s Pink Cactus Cafe. God Bless The Band is preceded by a new single, ‘The Luckiest Man Alive’, which is out now.
