Dunfermline is set to sparkle once again as the city’s Big Light Switch-on returns on Sunday, 15 November 2026.
Thousands of residents and visitors are expected to come together to celebrate the start of the festive season, with a day packed full of family-friendly entertainment, community spirit and Christmas cheer.
While plans for this year’s event are still being finalised, organisers are working to deliver another unforgettable celebration in the heart of the city.
The annual Big Light Switch-on has become one of Dunfermline’s most popular events, bringing people together to enjoy festive activities, live entertainment and the magical moment when the city’s Christmas lights are illuminated.
Councillor James Calder, Convener of the City of Dunfermline Area Committee, said: “Christmas is always a special time in Dunfermline, and the Big Light Switch-on is a fantastic opportunity for our communities to come together and celebrate.
“Every year the event creates a wonderful atmosphere in the city centre and helps mark the beginning of the festive season.
“We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors on Sunday, 15 November for what promises to be another memorable day.”
