Aberdeen’s much-loved fireworks display will return to dazzle crowds again this year on Thursday 5 November.
The display will begin at 7.30pm and last around 20 minutes, with fireworks launched from the end of Port of Aberdeen’s North Pier with spectators able to watch from the southern end of the Esplanade.
Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Councillor Christian Allard said: “The fireworks display is always a popular night, bringing people together and marking the start of the winter season in Aberdeen.
“With Park and Ride buses running from Bridge of Don and Kingswells, I would encourage everyone to plan their journey in advance, use public transport where possible, and help make the evening easier for everyone attending.”
Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Councillor Ian Yuill said: “Aberdeen’s fireworks display is always one of the year’s highlights and is enjoyed by families and people of all ages.
“We are delighted to welcome people back for what promises to be a fantastic evening. I would encourage everyone planning to attend to wrap up warm, plans their journey ahead of time and enjoys the display safely.”
Park and Ride buses, provided by First Bus and McGills, will be available from Bridge od Don and Kingswells to bring people directly to and from the beach. There will be no parking at the event except for those with blue badges.
Those attending are reminded to leave dogs at home and to not bring any fireworks, alcohol, drones or large bags. Bag searches will be in operation.
To support the event, a number of road closures and restrictions will be in place.
