Germany’s biggest Bavarian celebration is coming to Edinburgh and Glasgow this autumn.

Edinburgh Oktoberfest returns from October 8 - 10 bringing authentic German beer, traditional Bavarian food and live entertainment to the capital’s Central Hall.

This year the festival moves indoors, guaranteeing all the atmosphere of Oktoberfest without worrying about the Scottish weather.

From group feasting and stein-filled celebrations to exclusive spaces and full-on party takeovers with live entertainment, Brewhemia have got everything covered for an authentic Oktoberfest celebration.

Across three weekends its Beer Palace will play host to stomping oompah outfits and thigh-slapping ensembles, bringing the Bavarian tradition roaring to life in Edinburgh. The warehouse venue will be transformed into an incredible Bavarian space with Oktoberfest decor, authentic German beer, a live five-piece Oompah band and non-stop entertainment from start to finish including a funky Bavarian DJ.

Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest. Combining a beer festival with a fun fair its held annually in Munich on the Theresienwiese from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. The event draws around seven million visitors each year. Session 1 at SWG3 runs from 12-4.30pm and session 2 runs from 6-10pm.

Meanwhile, Oktoberwest returns to Glasgow’s West Brewery and this year’s event is bigger and better than ever.

Four hours of Oktoberfest fun comes to Glasgow Green with three sessions on Friday, October 2 at 7pm and Saturday, October 3 at 1pm and 7pm.

For the fourth year, The Oktoberfest Band, will be spoiling revellers with some classic tunes with an Oompha twist. Fancy dress is encouraged, with a prize for the best Bavarian costume.

BAaD will host the East End’s most diverse beer festival all under one roof welcoming a combination of Europe’s best beers paired with some award-winning Scottish breweries in the heart of the iconic Barras Market.
 
Running on October 18 from 11am – 10pm, over 15 breweries will be represented combined with some of Glasgow’s best music talent (plus traditional Oompa band).
