Germany’s biggest Bavarian celebration is coming to Edinburgh and Glasgow this autumn.
Edinburgh Oktoberfest returns from October 8 - 10 bringing authentic German beer, traditional Bavarian food and live entertainment to the capital’s Central Hall.

Across three weekends its Beer Palace will play host to stomping oompah outfits and thigh-slapping ensembles, bringing the Bavarian tradition roaring to life in Edinburgh. Expect bench-dancing choruses, hearty singalongs, and infectious tunes. Entertainment will come from Flat Cap Brass (September 19), Atomic Brass (September 26) and Loud Noises (October 3).

As well as German beer, Berlin Mule and Apple Strudel cocktails will be on the menu along with a Bavarian-style boozy brunch. Whether you’re after cocktails, craft beer or prosecco as part of your two-hour drinking session, Hanover Tap caters to all tastes. Drinks are limited to six per person.

Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest. Combining a beer festival with a fun fair its held annually in Munich on the Theresienwiese from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. The event draws around seven million visitors each year. Session 1 at SWG3 runs from 12-4.30pm and session 2 runs from 6-10pm.
Meanwhile, Oktoberwest returns to Glasgow’s West Brewery and this year’s event is bigger and better than ever.
Four hours of Oktoberfest fun comes to Glasgow Green with three sessions on Friday, October 2 at 7pm and Saturday, October 3 at 1pm and 7pm.
For the fourth year, The Oktoberfest Band, will be spoiling revellers with some classic tunes with an Oompha twist. Fancy dress is encouraged, with a prize for the best Bavarian costume.
With your ticket, you’ll receive a pint of West’s traditional Oktoberfest lager, currydog and fries, followed by deep fried pretzel bites.
