Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is to be transformed into a grand railway station this Christmas as Elfingrove returns following a £2million investment.
Branded the biggest immersive projection show to ever take place in Scotland, itison has unveiled a brand-new immersive experience this festive season as Elfingrove returns to Kelvingrove’s Centre Hall from November 26 - December 13.
Having welcomed more than 400,000 visitors over the years, Elfingrove is returning to the city for the first time since 2022 with a stunning new immersive Christmas show created specifically for Kelvingrove that will take audiences on a magical journey through Glasgow’s past, present and future.
The story will be brought to life by 24 state-of-the-art projectors covering an 8k canvas and accompanied by a beautiful cinematic score delivered through individual headsets to create a captivating and completely immersive experience inside the iconic museum.
Breathtaking projections will soar 22.8 metres up the walls — around the height of a seven-storey building — and across the ceiling covering 2,755 square metres of Kelvingrove’s Centre Hall.
After the show visitors will step out into the magical Elfingrove Christmas Village to discover twinkling light installations, the Snowglobe Bar and the Elfingrove Express — a miniature land train taking families on a fun-filled festive journey through the village.
