Emeli Sandé has announced a new tour celebrating 15 years since the release of the album that transformed her into one of the UK’s biggest singers.
The Aberdeenshire-raised star will perform her multi-million-selling debut Our Version of Events in full when she heads across the UK and Europe in early 2027.
And the 24-date tour will include a Scottish homecoming at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Monday, 8 February.
It is currently the only Scottish date announced on the anniversary tour, which will begin in Dublin on 2 February before travelling through the UK and mainland Europe.
Sandé will perform Our Version of Events from beginning to end alongside a selection of the biggest hits from the rest of her career.
Released in February 2012, the album turned Sandé from an emerging songwriter into an international star.
Our Version of Events includes Next to Me, Heaven, Clown and Read All About It (Pt. III) and went on to become the UK’s biggest-selling album of 2012.
Its success continued into the following year, when it was again the UK’s biggest-selling album.
The record ultimately sold more than five million copies worldwide and was certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
It also spent 66 consecutive weeks inside the UK album chart Top 10, breaking a record previously held by The Beatles’ debut Please Please Me.
Sandé’s success with the record brought some of the biggest accolades of her career.
Our Version of Events won British Album of the Year at the 2013 BRIT Awards, while Next to Me earned two Ivor Novello Awards.
The Glasgow show will be a particularly significant homecoming for Sandé. Although born in Sunderland, she grew up in Alford in Aberdeenshire and began writing songs as a teenager.
She later moved to Glasgow to study medicine at the University of Glasgow, initially intending to become a doctor while pursuing music alongside her studies. Sandé eventually left medicine behind as her music career gathered momentum.
Before establishing herself as a solo artist, she became an increasingly sought-after songwriter and collaborator, working with artists including Professor Green, Wiley and Naughty Boy.
Our Version of Events then propelled her into the mainstream. The album’s extraordinary run coincided with Sandé performing at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
She has subsequently released Long Live the Angels, Real Life, Let’s Say for Instance and How Were We to Know, as well as collaborating and writing with a long list of international artists.
The anniversary celebrations will also include a special gold vinyl edition of Our Version of Events, which is due for release on 17 October as part of National Album Day.
Before next year’s tour, Sandé will make another high-profile appearance in Scotland when she performs at BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Stirling this month. She is part of a bill which also includes Chaka Khan, Lulu and The Script.
Tickets for Sandé’s Glasgow Royal Concert Hall show go on general sale at 9am on Friday, 11 September.
