Hotel prices have soared above £1000-a-night for fans planning to visit Glasgow to see Oasis at Celtic Park.
Price hikes for rooms based on demand in some of the city’s top hotels will hit those fans staying over during to the Gallagher brothers’ opening dates on the Oasis Live 2027 world tour.
The 38-date tour will kick off with the first of five shows at Celtic Park on May 21, 2027.
Those arriving from other parts of Scotland and further afield will be made to fork out a small fortune to stay overnight in the city’s landmark hotels and the surrounding areas.
Reservations site Booking.com currently offers a room at Glasgow’s Citizen M for the opening night, priced at £1227.
A room at Hotel Moxy on the same date, May 21, would cost £965, while the Marriot hotel is charging £713 for a family room with two double beds.
Those looking to stay further afield can try to escape unaffordable room rates by reserving the Holiday Inn Glasgow – East Kilbride, where Booking.com is offering a non-refundable standard room for one night at £573 with breakfast.
Prices for other hotel rooms ahead of the final Oasis date on Saturday May 29, through Booking.com, include Moxy Merchant City (£1023 with breakfast), House of Gods (£709) and Yotel (£715).
The Manchester rockers announced five dates at Celtic Park on May 21, 23, 25, 28 and 29 with tickets going on sale on September 25, 26 and 27.
Consumer organisations have advised people shop around and check hotel sites direct as well as travel sites and platforms such as Airbnb when looking for cheaper deals.
Gilad Zilberman, CEO of comparison and resale site SeatPick said: “To find the best deals on hotels, concertgoers should scan budget chains in the city or look slightly outside of the centre in hotspots served by local bus routes or regional trains, such as Paisley or East Kilbride.
“Using aggregator tools to compare hotel prices will also be helpful to ensure you can find the best deals and discounts.
“Booking early might also be beneficial for fans dedicated to seeing the duo perform.
“Opt for free cancellation options, in case rumoured dates change, or you’re no longer able to attend.”
Some fans have already looked ahead in anger after discovering they could be made to pay over £200 for a chance to see any one of the band’s UK shows, ahead of hotel costs.
Liam and Noel Gallagher – who claim their upcoming performances will be “a sight to behold” – are expected to split a £500 million payday from shows across the UK, Europe and USA, once merchandise and secondary income streams are all accounted for.
The cheapest seats for the shows have been priced at £73 with upwards of £600 for more expensive seating and VIP packages.
Die-hard followers of the group will have to spend £170 upwards for a standing ticket.
Oasis announced their huge world tour in 2027 by telling fans they could “start the celebrations” when the tour kicks off next May.
Glasgow’s Celtic Park shows the very first of the batch, mean the Glasgow dates will be among the most sought after of all the shows.
Following the trip to Celtic Park, Oasis will start a huge 11-night run at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium in June 2027.
The tour will move on to Europe and the USA before return to the UK when Oasis will play four Knebworth gigs in September 2027.
Oasis say they will not use the controversial ‘dynamic pricing’ controversy that plagued the pre-sale and sale of a trio’s Oasis Live 25 reunion shows at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield in August of last year.
An official Oasis statement revealed the standard ticket prices will be fixed, and these will cost between £71.50 and £266.60.
Ticketmaster have provided venue specific ticket prices for the three UK venues - Celtic Park in Glasgow, the Etihad Stadium in Manchester and Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire.
Celtic Park tickets will begin with standard prices at £71.50, £104.50, £170.50, £203.50 and £263.50 including fees for seated tickets and £170.50 and £203.50 for standing tickets including fees.
All fans wishing to purchase Oasis tickets must register on the official Oasis website before Thursday, September 17 at 4pm.
Fans who are successful will be sent a unique, non-transferable code to access an allocated onsale window when tickets go on sale next week.
The registration process will be the only public way to buy tickets for Oasis Live ’27.
There will be no general sale or other public presales outside of this process, according to the statement.
A spokesperson for the band said: “This structure has been created to ensure the purchase process is as fair and smooth as possible for Oasis fans.”
