From indie, punk, to the best in alternative rock plus a great night of dance music with one of the country’s best-loved DJs, it’s all going on this weekend on the Scottish gig circuit.
Scottish News has picked four of the best gigs in Scotland this weekend.
Pit Pony

Newcastle alt rockers Pit Pony bring their live tour to The Hug and Pint, 171 Great Western Road, Glasgow this Saturday, October 3 at 7.30pm. If you like guitar rock with a melodic punk sound this is the gig for you.
BUCKFEST

The 15th annual day-long garage punk and rockabilly festival BUCKFEST with headliners The Bucky Rage runs on Saturday, October 3 from 3.30pm at Bar Bloc, 117 Bath Street, Glasgow. Glasgow’s own masked garage punk banditos (hosts of the Fuzz Factory and Buckfest) bring you an onslaught of fuzzed out bangers, delinquent ditties and borstal bops. Also on the bill are Planet Strange, David Delinquent & The I.O.U.s, The Kosher Pickles, The Dead Shout, Sha Rivari & The Maybes, BALD plus The Cult of Fuzz, Mr Neil Macinnes keeping the room and the Fuzz spinning all day long.
The Snuts

West Lothian’s finest The Snuts will play an early evening indie rock performance at Glasgow’s SWG3, 100 Eastvale Place, on Sunday, October 4 at 4.30pm. They burst onto the music scene as the first Scottish band in over a decade to top the UK album charts and are now giants of the indie scene. Get ready for a showcase of their anthemic sound and guitar-driven rock and roll swagger.
The Undertones

Classic punk rockers The Undertones will be bringing a bit of nostalgia to Edinburgh Corn Exchange, 11 New Market Road, Edinburgh on Saturday, October 3 at 7pm. Famed for their 70s hit ‘Teenage Kicks’, widely regarded as one of the greatest punk and pop singles of all time, the Northern Irish punk band’s eponymous debut LP was voted the 90th greatest British album of all time.
Ewan McVicar

Scottish DJ and music producer Ewan McVicar, known for tracks like ‘Tell Me Something Good’ and ‘Groove Thang’ will get behind the decks at Harbourworks, 1 York Street, Aberdeen on Saturday, October 3 at 11pm. One of the most promising artists of his generation, Ewan was nominated in the Breakthrough DJ category at the DJMag Best of British Awards in 2020, and is ascending rapidly up the ranks. Expect this night of electronica to be full of good vibes.
