Richard Ashcroft will support Oasis at Celtic Park when Liam and Noel Gallagher launch their 2027 tour with five nights in Glasgow.
The former Verve frontman will join the brothers as a special guest on their next run of shows, continuing the partnership that saw him support their reunion tour in 2025.
Oasis will play Celtic Park on 21, 23, 25, 28 and 29 May, opening a tour that will take them across the UK, mainland Europe, the United States and Ireland. The Glasgow concerts mark a return to Scotland after their three Murrayfield shows in Edinburgh last summer.
Ashcroft brings a catalogue spanning The Verve’s defining anthems and his solo career, including Bitter Sweet Symphony, The Drugs Don’t Work, Lucky Man and A Song for the Lovers.
His connection with the Gallaghers stretches back more than three decades. Oasis supported The Verve in 1993, before Definitely Maybe propelled them to fame, while Noel later dedicated Cast No Shadow to Ashcroft in the sleeve notes for (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
Speaking ahead of the 2025 reunion, Ashcroft credited Noel’s songwriting and Liam’s voice with inspiring his own work, singling out Live Forever as an influence.
The Celtic Park appearances will also coincide with the 30th anniversary year of Urban Hymns, the 1997 album that made The Verve one of Britain’s biggest bands.
Fans hoping to attend the Glasgow concerts must register through the Oasis website by 4pm on Thursday 17 September. The band says there will be no general sale, with registration the only route to an opportunity to buy tickets. Existing mailing list members must also register.
