A September announcement is expected to confirm that Oasis will make a spectacular return to Scotland with five concerts at Celtic Park in Glasgow next year.
The band have been in negotiations with key venues for a summer 2027 tour since November last year. As an extension of their enormously successful tour in 2025, a series of high profile dates will be announced.
Music industry figures in London and Dublin have said that the announcement will come in September to coincide with the launch of Netflix documentary Don’t Look Back in Anger.
Celtic Park dates under consideration are 22, 23, 24, 26 and 29 May. The concerts would take place immediately after the end of the Scottish football season and could bring more than 250,000 fans to Glasgow’s East End.
The focus for the tour will be up to 12 concerts at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, staged over a six week period.
Slane Castle in County Meath, Ireland is likely to be part of the tour, with six concerts at Knebworth Park over three weeks, marking a major return to the site of the band’s landmark 1996 shows.
Celtic Park has previously hosted some of the biggest names in music, including U2, Prince and The Who. Five Oasis concerts would represent one of the most ambitious runs of live shows staged at the stadium.
Intense speculation about new dates will reach a crescendo in September with an announcement to coincide with the release of Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger.
The documentary includes footage from rehearsals, backstage and performances around the world, as well as the first joint interview with Liam and Noel Gallagher in more than 20 years.
The film will arrive in UK cinemas in September before becoming available on Disney+ later in the year – despite some reports describing it as a Netflix documentary.
Promoters for the tour have yet not made any public comment on the prospect of new dates.
