More than 1,200 people rolled out their yoga mats at Glasgow’s SEC on Sunday as Yellow Yogis brought together stars, supporters and fundraisers for what organisers described as Scotland’s largest yoga event.

The event, held in aid of Beatson Cancer Charity, was a “big stretch for a wee cause” — with the latest fundraising total already exceeding £175,000 as donations continue to come in.

Host Jenny Powell was joined by TV favourite Sanjeev Kohli and Scottish singer-songwriter Cammy Barnes, who entertained the crowds with a live performance and even managed to strike a few yoga poses alongside Powell.

The huge community yoga class was led by internationally recognised instructor Finlay Wilson, better known as The Kilted Yogi.

Wilson was given a memorable welcome as he was piped into the SEC by the ScottishPower Pipe Band before leading more than 1,200 participants through the class.

The flagship fundraising event was organised to raise money for Beatson Cancer Charity, with funds supporting the charity’s work and its Wellbeing Centre.

With more than £175,000 raised so far and donations still coming in, the inaugural Yellow Yogis event has brought together thousands of pounds — and more than 1,200 people — for a cause close to the hearts of many across Scotland.
