Marti Pellow announces huge Glasgow homecoming show to celebrate 40 years in music

Marti Pellow has announced a huge Glasgow homecoming show as he prepares to celebrate 40 years in music.

The former Wet Wet Wet frontman will bring his new No Marti No Party tour to the OVO Hydro on Saturday 2 October 2027, with the Glasgow concert bringing the UK run to a close.

The tour will celebrate four decades since Pellow first broke through with Wet Wet Wet, bringing together songs from his time with the Clydebank band and his subsequent solo career.

Pellow said: “The clue is in the title of the tour, it’s what the fans always sing back to me when the lights go down.”

The tour opens at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on 28 August before visiting Birmingham, London, Southend, Manchester, Gateshead, Hull, Sheffield, York, Cardiff and Brighton.

It will then culminate with Pellow returning home for the Hydro show. The anniversary comes 40 years after Wet Wet Wet’s breakthrough year in 1987.

Their debut single Wishing I Was Lucky reached number six in the UK singles chart, followed by Sweet Little Mystery and Angel Eyes, which both made the top five.

Their debut album Popped In Souled Out went to number one, beginning a run which would make Wet Wet Wet one of Scotland’s most successful pop bands.

The group went on to score three UK number one singles and four number one albums.

Their biggest hit, a cover of Love Is All Around, spent 15 consecutive weeks at number one in 1994 after featuring on the soundtrack to Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Pellow left Wet Wet Wet in 2017 and has continued an extensive solo career which has included his own albums, tours and leading roles in musical theatre.

The Glasgow singer already has a busy programme of appearances in his Glasgow ahead of the anniversary concert.

He will star in Scrooge The Musical at the SEC Armadillo from December 2026 into January before presenting his intimate music and storytelling show The Voice in the Room at the Citizens Theatre from 31 May to 5 June 2027.

The Citizens run will see Pellow combine songs with stories and reflections from his career in a significantly smaller setting before returning to the arena stage at the Hydro four months later.

Presale tickets for the No Marti No Party tour will be available from 10am on Wednesday 28 October.

General sale begins at 10am on Friday 30 October.
