The Highland Fling is giving visitors another reason to get their adrenaline pumping, with a new zip line experience offering an alternative for those not quite ready to take the plunge.

Set among the trees of the Scottish countryside, the activity gives visitors the chance to take on the heights while enjoying a different kind of adventure.

For staff member Cameron Gray, who has spent the past year working full-time at the attraction after three previous winter seasons, seeing visitors push themselves outside their comfort zones is one of the best parts of the job.

He said the zip line has helped broaden the activities on offer, particularly for families and those who may be hesitant about trying the bungee jump.

“Not everyone’s up for chucking themselves off a bridge. So the next best option is zip lining, in our opinion,” he said.

The new addition also gives families the opportunity to enjoy the attraction together, even if they have different ideas of what constitutes an adventure.

Cameron said parents might be keen to try the bungee jump, while younger family members can opt for the zip line instead.

He added that it can also act as a stepping stone for people who are nervous about heights, allowing them to build their confidence before considering some of the bigger challenges.

Supporting visitors through those nerves is a key part of the experience for the team.

Cameron said staff work hard to encourage people to complete the activities rather than simply turning away those who feel apprehensive.

He said: “We want people to finish the activity, walk away from here, absolutely loving it with a smile on their faces.”

He added that customer feedback often highlights the friendliness and support of staff, particularly when helping nervous visitors build the confidence to push beyond their comfort zones.

For the team, the biggest reward is seeing people arrive with doubts and leave having conquered something they might never have thought possible.

Highland Fling is offering buy 1 get 1 free off activity vouchers as part of its Black Friday promotion on November 27 and November 30, 2026. The vouchers are valid for two years, giving visitors plenty of time to plan their trip. You can book this here.

There is also an Itison deal for the Killie Zip experience, with prices starting from £35 for one person, reduced from £52. You can book this here.

Whether you are looking for a different day out, an activity to enjoy with friends or an unusual gift for someone who loves adventure, Highland Fling has plenty to offer.
